Caring Bridge Updates for Scott (My BIL)

Newest to Oldest

Journal entry by Debbie Heiman —

I'll start off by saying that his labs looked amazing! All of his counts were right where they should be!

The good news is that the uptake to the liver tumors has actually decreased since his last scan 3 months ago. Dr. Charlson said that you normally don't see this happening this far into a cancer diagnosis, especially since he's been out of treatment. God is so amazing and faithful!

Now for the questionable part:

An area in Scott's pelvis lit up on the MRI. No mass was seen though, which is good.

We walk away today with an MRI scheduled for next Monday to get a better look at this area. We will get results next Wednesday.

We have another week of waiting now, but we truly feel much better. We're not out of the woods for starting chemo again though. We'll just have to wait and see.

I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers throughout this entire time!

Stay tuned for results next Wednesday.

Scott is in the PET scan as I write this Caring Bridge. The scan was scheduled for 1PM.

We will have a grueling 48 hour waiting period until we get the results on Wednesday at 1PM. The waiting is the hardest part. Once we know what we're dealing with, we just push forward.

Here's a little update:

-Scott has been treatment free for over 9 months now.
-His last scan just over 3 months ago showed that his liver tumors remained stable, with no new disease anywhere.

We are ready for whatever lies ahead, as always. God is with us every step of the way. We know that he will always take care of us. What a blessing that truly is for all of us!

Your prayers are greatly appreciated as we wait for our results on Wednesday.
